Does being furloughed put me at higher risk of redundancy?

Hi, I have been informed I am being furloughed at work. I understand and am grateful that the govt will pay 80% of my salary.

Does anyone know if this puts me at higher risk of redundancy?

Hi @BigSpender and welcome to the Money Dashboard Community,

The Gov page below is giving you all the details about being put on temporary leave because of coronavirus.

The site says that:

Your employer can still make you redundant while you’re on furlough or afterwards.
But your rights as an employee (including redundancy rights) are not affected by being on furlough.

If you refuse to go on temporary leave, your rights are protected but you are at risk of being made redundant.

If your employer asks you to go on furlough and you refuse you may be at risk of redundancy or termination of employment, depending on the circumstances of your employer. However, this must be in line with normal redundancy rules and protections.
